In an exciting announcement earlier this month, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation revealed that two exceptional high school seniors from the DeKalb County School District were awarded prestigious National Merit Scholarships. Tyler Malemezian of Chamblee High School and Clare Rollins of Lakeside High School have been recognized as part of a distinguished group of more than 6,870 students nationwide, each receiving scholarships worth nearly $26 million.
Tyler Malemezian, a senior at Chamblee High School, was honored with the National Merit University of Georgia Scholarship. Tyler will pursue a career in finance, and this scholarship will provide him with valuable support as he pursues his journey toward becoming a financial expert.
Clare Rollins, a senior at Lakeside High School, earned the National Merit Vanderbilt University Scholarship. With ambitions for a career in neuroscience, Clare’s scholarship will help financially pave the way as she studies the complex and fascinating world of the human brain.
The National Merit Scholarship Program, supported by 149 colleges and universities, is dedicated to enhancing students’ educational opportunities and promoting academic excellence. By underwriting Merit Scholarship awards, these institutions join the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in recognizing and rewarding the potential of outstanding students like Tyler and Clare.
