On March 20-25, 2022 the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) engaged in a Cognia Accreditation Engagement Review. Cognia, formerly known as AdvancED, is the global leader in preschool through 12th grade accreditation services and is responsible for conducting five-year accreditation renewal visits for member school districts. A preliminary presentation released by Cognia during an Exit Report on Friday March 25, 2022 shows that the team will recommend DeKalb County School District receive a five-year renewal of its accreditation following this intense review. DeKalb County School District’s Master Planning process includes an evaluation of all school and administrative facilities, as well as the infrastructure to support the educational mission of the District. This process includes gathering data about school facilities that will be used to develop priorities for the next Educational Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST) project list.
